The day at Te Marua Golf Course was a fantastic one, as reflected in the high spirits of all our players. Given the beautiful weather, the green staff had presented the course in excellent condition, with the greens both firm and true, allowing the accomplished players to showcase their skills.
A huge thank you to all the course staff at Te Marua for providing a quality course for our players.

Our tournament kicked off with the morning session, where 30 individuals teed off early for a spot on the national team. It was a special day for the Wellington committee, as Allan Fayen (The Phantom) was, much to his surprise, announced as a Lifer member. Congratulations to Joel Bull, who won the day with a gross of 77. A great effort also came from The Phantom himself, who was a close second. An honorable mention must also go out to National President Jamie Dempster, who also shot a 77—unfortunately, as he abandoned us on the day, it didn’t count!
The afternoon Ambrose session kicked off at 12:30 with a massive 144 players, with two four-man teams per hole. The day was slow due to the sheer number of attendees, but spirits were high, and the players enjoyed the friendly competition. A huge congratulations to Advance Electrical Wholesalers Upper Hutt for taking the top prize with a net 55.

A great deal of entertainment and support was provided by our sponsors. Many thanks to J. A. Russell for running a beer cart on the back nine and for their generous donation of prizes for our prize table. A special thank you also to Advance Electrical, who kept everyone refreshed with a beer cart on the front nine.
Our players were very well fed, and a huge thank you goes to Schneider for the awesome BBQ and burgers by the clubhouse, as well as to Ideal Electrical for providing a BBQ on the front nine.

Particular mention to Victoria from Signify, who ran our charity hole and raised money for the Wellington City Mission.

The day was a huge success thanks to the incredible support from our sponsors, including Kraus and Naimer, who provided a brand-new inaugural trophy for the winners of the Ambrose. Additional thanks go to HPM, Switch Lighting, Thorn, ESC, Hard Yakka, ETCO, Tyree, Maxlume, Real Cold, ZG Lighting, CLA Lighting, Prysmian, and Master Electricians, whose contributions were invaluable to the success of our day.
