Waikato 2017

Played at Riverside Golf Club Narrows Course –
A new course for us this year but still at Riverside Golf Club but at the Narrows course due to a coring clash at the Lochiel course. The beauty of one club two courses.
With the weather leading into the event being rather average numbers were down on the day but we still managed to round up 64 players on the start sheet. A little disappointing but this could be due to not only the weather but also the issue around being the school holidays.

Couple of holes of light rain but all in all a good day for golf. The course was in great shape considering the amount of rain in the weeks leading into the event. A testament to the course staff for sure.
Good scoring was a tough ask tough (just ask Lance Staiger and Justin Scott) but the greens and fairways certainly weren’t to blame.
With the on course BBQs in full swing and players at the ready the action fired off at 12.30pm with a shot gun start.
A big thanks to all the National and Regional Sponsors who turned out in good numbers and also help fill the prize table to almost over flowing. Special mention to Blair Mason from Kraus & Naimer for driving the refreshments cart and taking all the on course and club house photos. Also the Ideal and JA Russell teams for putting on two great bbqs.
