Omanu Golf Club – Mt Maunganui Friday 7th October
With the weather leading into the event being rather average numbers were down on the day but still 70 players on the start sheet. A little disappointing with the no shows on the day but with only about 10 minutes of rain over the day it turned out to be a cracker. – Although there was a fair bit of surface water about the course stood up just perfectly as the writers score of 75 gross a testament to the conditions.
With the on course BBQs in full swing and players at the ready the action fired off at 12.30pm with a shot gun start.
A big thanks to all the National and Regional Sponsors who turned out in good numbers and also help fill the prize table to almost over flowing. Special mention to The Spark Business Tauranga team driving the refreshments cart and the Gerard Lighting refreshments ute on course with the Corys BBQ at the 7th tee and the Ideal BBQ at the tenth tee the players were certain well fed and watered during the day.
