2022 regretfully sees us no further from the effects of Covid with New Zealand now at the red alert level nationwide.
Although this level allows for unlimited travel throughout New Zealand, there are certain restrictions that go along with that when holding indoor social events such as required for our National Tournament. Gatherings are limited to 100 if everyone has a My Vaccine Passport this includes the staff working in the venue “No Passport no Entry”
With the numbers game for indoor gatherings and concerns from a number of players selected in some of the teams, with a possibility of having to spend time away from work in isolation, it is felt that once again there are too many uncertainties involved.
With these thoughts in mind, the Executive Committee has now decided that we will have to regretfully cancel the Nationals set down for Palmerston North in February.
At this point in time we live in hope that some normality will prevail as the year progresses, and we will all get to enjoy our Regional Events.
With Middle Districts happy to concede that the Nationals should now move on to the next association. This will see us reverting back to the normal calendar whereby the 2022 Nationals will now be hosted by the Otago Association
October 30th – November 1st at the Otago Golf Club, Balmacewan, Dunedin.
The Otago Golf Club established in 1871 boasts to be “the oldest club in the Southern Hemisphere” It is a must-attend golf course in any golfing calendar. We look forward to seeing all our lucky qualifiers in November. Best Regards and good fortune to all.
