Tasman/Marlborough/West Coast 2020

The 2020 NMWC tournament was played on the 16th of October at the Waahi Taakaro Golf club in the picturesque Maitai Valley on a stunning Nelson day.
Due to Covid, the tournament is put together in about 4 weeks and it was decided to change the format to 18 hole Ambrose. This didn’t stop the majority of regulars entering teams with a few new faces also coming along.

Prizes were packaged in mystery boxes to continue the fun theme for the day.

In the end the team lead by regular gross winner Brett Allan and including first timers Hamish, Matt and Dan, took the win with a 4 under 68. A flood of teams from Blenheim then took the next few places. 2nd was another team of first timers, Marlborough Lines young guns, Karlos, Blair, Owen and Matt with 68. Who beat their old timer work mates, Mark, Ian Gavin and Rex by a shot.

Two near the pins were sponsored by Ideal Electrical, Grant Fergusson put it to two feet on 2/11 and Matt Moleta to 6 feet on 5/14 with a shot that went 30 metres in the air and the other 100 using the slopes almost to perfection.

A great day was had by all.
