
The day began with fine weather, but as the day progressed, the wind was quite testing, which did not reflect in the overall scoring.
The 120 players were a large field with 40 Individual players and 20 Ambrose Teams competing.
The HB Golf Club staff, which included Office, Bar, Pro Shop, Green Keepers, and Caterers, Darren, Tania, Maxine and Natts, were thanked for their help during the day.



The Course Activities had M/E putting Competition on the Practice green, attended by Darren. Robin from Schneider, Richard, and Anna from JA Russell Napier attended the Barby on the turn, keeping the teams well fed. The meat was sponsored by Porkies Butchery, Taradale.
Adrian from Thorn Lighting sponsored the longest drive on Hole 10 for the Ambrose Teams.
Scott thanked the Companies who supported this Day with the Events around the course. He also mentioned the Local Team helpers, Tom, Tony, Kevin, Glen, Carl, Jaco, and Fred, and a Special acknowledgement to Chris Martin for the hours of help before and during the Golf Day.
We acknowledged all our Gold, Silver, and Bronze Sponsors who support this Event every year, also at the Nationals, plus the 14 Hole Sponsors were named and applauded by all the players.
After the golf, the Local Branch of Master Electricians supplied platters to the Player Tables, which was much appreciated by all the golfers again this year.

In conclusion, Scott thanked the tremendous support from Suppliers, Sponsors, and the General Electrical Industry.
He wished everyone the best for the rest of 2025. Gavin Clarke from the National Board attended this year's event with a team from Waikato.
Chris Martin mentioned the retirement of Scott after 40+ years of organizing the local tournament and expressed appreciation for all the past years of service to Electrical Trades Golf Hawkes Bay/Gisborne. Scott's co-organization of the National Tournament has been and continues to be immense.
The HB/GIS National Team will be announced on the 12th September 2025, the National Championships are scheduled to be held here in Hawkes Bay, from the 9th of November 2025.
