Tournament Report 50th Anniversary – Boulcotts Farm Heritage Golf Club – 30th October-1st November 2016
On behalf of the National Executive Committee and the associations attending, we would like to express our thanks to all our sponsors who continue to support this our preeminent golf event for the Electrical Trades.
As they continue to support us we would ask all our participants and those that attend the regional events to take every opportunity to return the support when considering their purchasing options.
Particular thanks to our departing president Neville Simpson for his guidance during his time in the role, Neville has been awarded a life membership of the association that we trust he will take advantage of in the coming years.
To the Wellington Association many thanks for hosting a very successful week of golf, congratulations to all our winners, we look forward to seeing you all in Nelson next year.
Good golfing and a very Merry Xmas and prosperous New Year to all.
The Committee NZ Electrical Trades Golf
This year saw the Electrical Trades Golf celebrate its 50th Anniversary, an epic occasion by any standards and a week that will be long remembered by those whom attended.
The Wellington committee, Bruce Robb, Jamie Dempster, Steve Needham & Alan Fayen were proud to host all the regions at the course where it all began in 1967.
Previously held under the banner of The Hutt Golf Course a successful amalgamation with the Boulcotts Farm Golf Club has seen the creation of an exceptional layout that both clubs can be very proud of.
Aside from a little inclement weather during the early part of practice day, Wellington provided “near perfect conditions” for the weeks proceedings, I say “near perfect” as apart from those whom live in our “often wind prone” capital city, the 20 knot winds would prove to be a challenge for some of the otherwise shorter hitters.
Maybe also some of the pin placements on the 2nd day? !!
Many thanks to the staff at Boulcotts Farm for their wonderful hospitality, in particular to Alistair and the ladies in the proshop for their invaluable assistance with the results, the catering staff for the top class dining, the bar staff for not running out of beer!!, and to the greens Super and his staff for presenting the course in perfect order.
The Wellington association can be well satisfied with their efforts on our 50th Anniversary.
To the prizegiving.
Nelson / Marlborough did a fantastic job of securing Best Team Gross for the first time in the history of the event, well done to Bryce and his team “drug testing will be in place for winning teams as of 2017″……..!!
