Aorangi 2024

This year our Tournament was held once again at the Temuka Golf Club on Friday 15th March with 68 players taking part, making use of the last of Daylight saving.

Klein BBQ and display

The Course was in fantastic condition again. Having had a dry summer, the weather turned on us and opened the heavens above. Despite the weather, the spirits were high, and excellent golf was played.

Our tournament was well sponsored, with some new faces.

The format again was an Ambrose, which proved to be a very inclusive format for everyone. Second year now, we have noticed an increase in our numbers and have seen many younger players taking part from areas of the trades.

The relatively new committee stepped up and ran a successful Golf Day.
Thank you, team. We were fortunate to have 2 of the National delicates attending and playing on the day.
Thank you, James and Ben, for the effort.

Our local Master Electricians were again very supportive of our Tournament.

Industrial Controls South Canterbury and Active both had 3 teams entered this year. ICSC #1 worked away with the bragging rights.

Richard Seaton from KLEIN tools provided a very popular gourmet BBQ for everyone.

Both Bremca a Panel Builder company from Christchurch and CSL (Cuthbert Stewart Limited) supplied the players with refreshments on the course.

The day was wrapped with a BBQ supplied and run by the Aorangi committee.

Again, it was great to have Richard Knights RWK Holesaws team from across the Waitaki River join us for the day. (and again, for the second year in a row they came 2nd) Next year Richard.

The Vynco Cup was won by the Active #2 with 51 points. (Cam Milne, Jack Thompson, Jackson O’Connor, Mark Simpson).

2nd-RWK Holesaws from Oamaru –  3rd Clemens Electrical – 4th  E.S.R

Nearest to pin #12 (RWK Hole Saws Sponsored) – John Maclean

ATT (Apprentice Training Trust) ran a chip into an umbrella, which was won by Andy Philip.

As the format was Ambrose, the Aorangi Team for the National Tournament will be selected from a tournament that will be played later in the year.
