Aorangi Friday 31st August 2018 – Timaru – Levels Golf Club – Washdyke
This was earlier than normal because other dates clashed with other region Tournaments around NZ. We will need to change this in the future.
The day was very cold, but made bearable by playing on a well presented course. Wouldn’t want to make public the temperature.
This year was well sponsored by many new companies and individuals. Great to have new support.
We had 50 players from the trade, with many very keen to make team for National Tournament. (we select 4 best gross and 4 best nett)
HPM Legrand provided great hot food during round and Trind had their novel WEG motor beer keg.
Unfortunate for some long standing National team members they didn’t make the ruthless cut.
The Vynco cup was won by Industrial controls team. Most of these are new to Aorangi district and mad keen on golf.
The cup was presented by Roger Brechin from Vynco.
A lot of effort was put in by Calvin Gabites (Secretary) and Barry Ward and new club Captain Blair Struthers.
