Tasman/Marlborough/West Coast 2025

Golf Course

After being postponed due to rain on the original date of the 9th of May, the Nelson Marlborough West Coast ambrose tournament took place in stunning autumn conditions on Friday the 23rd of May.
With no clouds and barely a breath of wind all day, it made for a great day out.
The Waahi Taakaro course, although a little damp in areas was once again presented in fantastic condition. The greens were as smooth and quick as they have probably ever been.

The 15 teams were well fed before and during play by Richard from Klein Tools, with his trusty trailer BBQ, and plenty of refreshments were put on by the committee.

The winners on the day were the team from Radcliffe Richmond with a 6-under 66.

Two teams finished on 68, with Shanks-a-lot beating Rowan Dron Electrical on countback.

Rowan Dron Electrical 3rd placing below

Other scores were..
Active Nelson - 70
Radcliffe Blenheim #1 - 70
Active Blenheim - 70
Crabb Electrical - 71
Makita - 71
Corys - 73
Abel Electrical - 73
Radcliffe Blenheim #2 - 76
Advanced Electrical - 77
Tasman Sparkies - 78
Carter Holt Harvey - 82
Rzoska - 83

There were two nearest the pins.

Hole 2/11 was a SodaStream machine sponsored by CBD. This was won by Keith Durrant, who must have thought he was about to make a hole in one while this was on the way to the pin.
The ball finished not much more than a foot behind the hole.

Hole 5/14 was a chilly bin sponsored by Firstflex. Andrew Gourdie "right" taking this one out.

Special thanks to Nigal Currie from Legrand who once again sponsored the pizzas after the round.
As always these tournaments would not be a success without the many sponsors.
Thank you to this years hole sponsors, Pierlite, Pure Lighting, Cuthbert Stewart, Active Electrical Blenheim & Nelson, Redpaths, Corys, Switch Lighting, Mikita and Radcliffe Nelson, Blenheim & Richmond.
And to our many prize sponsors.
Thank you also to Tony from the Waahi Taakaro golf club for his help putting the day together and making things run smoothly.

Sorry, Brad, no prize for best dressed 🙂
