Venue Information - Waahi Taakaro Golf Club

Welcome to Waahi Taakaro, the friendliest and most affordable golf club in Nelson.

We are proud of our Māori name, which means place of recreation.

Visit our relaxing piece of paradise in the picturesque Maitai Valley, less than 10 minutes from the centre of the city.

Play our lovely tree-lined layout with great views of the valley which provides a surprisingly challenging but fair test for golfers of all abilities.

Be charmed by the tui, kererū, kingfisher and quail that create an all day chorus and the ducks, eels and trout that swim in the river that winds through the well maintained course.

Relax afterwards in our clubrooms overlooking the river and enjoy the company and camaraderie of people from all walks of life.

We welcome everyone, including visitors to the region.
Come play where the golf is fun and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
